Robert J. Morgan is a best-selling Gold Medallion Award-winning author, a staff writer for Dr. David Jeremiah’s Turning Points Magazine, and has also served as pastor of The Donelson Fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee, for the past twenty-seven years. He holds degrees from Columbia International University (BS), Wheaton Graduate School (MA), and Luther Rice Seminary (M.Div.). Morgan and his wife have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Master at Application

Rob is one of the most wonderful speakers and you need to hear him in person. But, if you can't, pick up "The Promise", get in a nice quiet place and be ready to have God work his love in your life. Based on one of the most blessed promises for the Christian in the Bible, Rob takes you through the richness and blessednesses of how God works in your life to bring good out of the bad. Now, you might see your glass half empty, but then you will see it flowing over. God works in mysterious ways. He will guide you through the trials of life so that you can be a blessing as you encourage others as they pass through some of the valleys of life. Go ahead, get the book, and I dare you to try to not be blessed and encouraged. God is good. (so is this book).

Romans 8

Every book written by Robert J. Morgan is a comfort. This one was inspired by the New Testament, Romans, chapter 8. The promise therein is that almighty God can work all things in your life together for good.

How this can be accomplished is discussed in 210 pages of amazing
insights from the author, supported by various translations of verse 28 in the 8th. chapter of Romans, and life changing stories from people who, like all of us, have faced difficult circumstances. Rob Morgan also succeeds in bringing Bible stories to life in a unique way.

I happily recommend this book of hope, optimism, comfort and joy. It is a book like no other and explains how to trust God to lead us thru the rough times in our life in an intelligent and thoughtful manner.

It is a positive message, although the way it comes about might surprise some readers. This book is well suited for one-on-one sharing, with plenty of opportunity for trying on different voices. Although some animals require more guidance than others (spoiled feline Boots runs away after his fourth whiny missive—opening up a purr-fect home for the appreciative Tabby), her wisdom eventually prevails. About the Author

Carolyn Crimi is the author of numerous picture books, including Boris and Bella, Where's My Mummy?, and Don't Need Friends. She was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and now lives in Illinois with her husband and pug.

David Roberts is the illustrator of A House Called Awful End and the other books in the popular Eddie Dickens Trilogy, as well as the picture books Rapunzel: A Groovy Fairy Tale and the Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book Mrs. Crump's Cat. He is also the author-illustrator of the picture book Dirty Bertie. David was runner-up for the prestigious Mother Goose Award for children's illustration. He lives in London, England.

It's all in your perspective

Tabby D. Cat is a hungry alley cat who will solve the problems of the animal world in exchange for food. In typical "Dear Abby" fashion, Tabby receives and answers letters from animals of all stripes. There's spoiled fellow cat Boots who doesn't appreciate being fed sardines, being dressed in a sweater, or being carted around in a baby carriage by his little girl owner. There's Manfred the hound dog who's searching for the meaning of life. There's Pauline the parrot who might have a question if she could just stop talking long enough to think of one. And there's Stanky the love-starved skunk, Betty the runaway circus bear, Fizzy the dizzy hamster and Guy the groundhog who's nervous about his first performance.

Tabby not only answers her correspondents in creative and thoughtful ways, she manages to find a convenient and unique solution to improve the life of one of her correspondents - and her own. Just shows what you can do if you change your perspective.

The illustrations are cute and attractive. The page layouts are also engaging, as each is presented in letter format. Tizzy's letter format is especially funny. Toward the end of the book there are a number of classified ads that tell us how Tabby's correspondents' problems have been resolved.

The book is witty and humorous, which will appeal to parents and perhaps older children. Younger children - those too young to read the newspaper or to have heard of an advice column - will be a little baffled. The story works even without an understanding of an advice column, but it loses a lot. I would recommend it more for ages six to ten.

In DEAR TABBY, Tabby gives advice to a cat who is unhappy with her owner, a dog looking for happiness, a parrot who likes to talk but doesn't like to listen, a circus bear who has run away from the circus, a skunk looking for love, a hamster who's stuck running in circles, and a groundhog feeling the pressure of his first Groundhog's Day. Tabby's advice doesn't always seem to hit the mark right away, but she somehow manages to help turn their problems around with a successful solution. In the end Tabby even helps herself when she finds a home with someone to love her, and closes with what just might be her best advice yet. I like the format of this book with large print that makes it easier to read, and easy to carry with me. I like the down to earth cover photo because I usually think of this book with a science fiction mentality. The cover helps me to focus on the impending reality of the truths foretold in this book.

Paul Spicker is Grampian Chair of Public Policy at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. His research has included studies of poverty, need, disadvantage and service delivery. Had enormous success with this in AP French classes. One can assign as much or as little as desired since the sections are quite short. I put ALL the vocabulary on Quizlet, and the sets are open, so help yourself. Sorry, I did do French to English! The students loved learning all the slang and some "gros mots." Since AP French is so challenging, there needs to be some short-term payoff, and the slang and "gros mots" was it. Very satisfying for them also to have read an entire novel (it is short)! Finally, the novel is in a very spoken style, so, indirectly, I think it helps their speaking.

Pretty entertaining book

Pretty entertaining book. Very short chapters which i like. Deals with racism and stereotypes, so the main character seems a little shallow at first. I've not finished the book, but I imagine she changes by the end. The level of vocabulary is a little difficult.
